Tuul

Tuul stands for adding value to daily city life, reducing urban pollution, and creating new standards for electric micro-mobility vehicles in terms of durability, convenience, and care. Tuul is a shared electric scooter fleet that provides its services in Tallinn and Riga. They also manufacture their own custom IoT devices in-house, supporting sustainable production. Their mission is to empower emissionless transport and make the world a cleaner and happier place to live in. They aim not only to offer the best IoT solutions but also to offer a full electric vehicle system with a layer of connectivity as a service.

Setting Up an Efficient QA Process

Tuul needed to make sure their software and IoT solutions worked as intended and did not fail their users. As all their production was done in-house, they needed someone to help them set up an efficient QA process that would establish clear testing procedures, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure faster, bug-free releases. By teaming up with TestDevLab, Tuul is able to provide high-quality service to its customers as well as grow its brand.

Introducing TestDevLab—Empowering the New Vehicle Movement

When we first met Tuul, they did not have an in-house testing team or the time to test. Without an effective QA process in place, they risked losing clients and money. A quality assurance team that would oversee all aspects of quality assurance for their products was long overdue. Our team worked closely with Tuul and their development team to define testing objectives and improve the quality of the mobile application.

Through constant communication with Tuul, we were able to successfully introduce quality assurance as an essential part of their software development life cycle. Given that the Tuul application is used by a large number of users on a daily basis, It is important to make sure that the application works as specified in the documentation. That is why we conducted mobile application testing to make sure their mobile application is accessible and works flawlessly with different iOS and Android devices. As well we performed IoT device testing to make sure their IoT devices were reliable across every environment and met high-quality standards. To be certain of this, we conducted various types of testing, including battery, regression, location, and network testing.

Furthermore, we created a regression test suite from scratch to cover all the necessary test cases. This way, we could ensure that the software is accurate and works as required after undergoing corrections or changes. We were able to define the main root causes and describe how to replicate issues. As a result, we established the best testing practices and delivered a concise overall quality and product status report to the client.

With the support of TestDevLab, Tuul was able to take advantage of our excellent software and hardware quality assurance and testing services. By doing so, Tuul was able to successfully build and test its software features and move closer to achieving its business goals. We implemented a comprehensive test plan, gave concise feedback about improvements, and set a strong foundation for their quality assurance process. TestDevLab continues to support Tuul by designing new tests and suggesting ways they can improve their IoT devices and mobile applications. Together with Tuul, we strive to deliver the best possible products to their clients, empowering the “new vehicle movement”.
