Establishing Technical Requirements for New Product

Soundtrack Your Brand needed support from TestDevLab to establish technical requirements for their new product. In order to get good traction from users, quality was non-negotiable. Soundtrack Your Brand wanted to make sure its product worked seamlessly on a wide range of devices and platforms with different operating systems and versions. Introducing TestDevLab — Maintaining the Test Environment 24/7

Initially, our cooperation with Soundtrack Your Brand began with establishing project goals. The main goal was to offload existing test setup maintenance and to expand the number of test devices connected to the test environment by adding more mobile devices and laptops. Our engineers were able to successfully set up the test environment that works 24/7 and has more than 60 devices. This setup, which compares original songs with playback from test devices to check for differences in quality, is completely maintained by TestDevLab. Once the setup was up and running, the next step was to make the setup accessible remotely so that it can be accessed and controlled by the client.

Another one of our main goals was testing the client’s application. We performed manual and automated tests to make sure performance was at a high level. Working closely with the client and their team, we were able to successfully catch various issues and faulty versions of the application on different operating systems and their versions. We established the best testing practices and delivered a concise overall quality and product status report to stakeholders. By enabling the client to access and view the status of the setup remotely, they could see and resolve issues faster. In addition, we performed testing on both Android and iOS mobile devices, making sure that the software could install new versions on these devices quickly and—most importantly—remotely, without any terminal command executions. To achieve this, we developed a front-end page for Android devices that allowed version updates to be performed easily and remotely, while for iOS devices, we used management tools.
