ConSynSys Technologies

ConSynSys Technologies delivers the ProCaaSo platform - "Process Control as a Service". Their goal is to improve the medicine and food manufacturing processes by introducing a cloud-based solution that enables the possibility for software to be delivered from anywhere. This also provides the possibility of monitoring the manufacturing line without being on site. By using Cloud-Programmable Logic Controller's (CPLC) and Python, downtime of the line can be reduced, a decrease of manual processes is achieved, and also productivity is not lost compared to legacy solutions. With ConSynSys solution, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, chemical, food, or industrial manufacturing can be done faster with fewer faults, thus improving the end product quality and, most importantly, cost.

Challenges that led to QA outsourcing

ConSynSys had insufficient end-to-end UI test coverage. Additionally, existing tests were implemented by the development team themselves, not independent QA engineers. Recognizing the importance of maintaining the highest standards in product quality and customer satisfaction, ConSynSys proactively engaged with independent software QA and testing experts. This strategic partnership was aimed at enhancing the app’s performance and ensuring an exceptional user experience.

Introducing TestDevLab - Establishing e2e Web UI automation testing

In the beginning, ConSynSys's main priority/goal was to understand the current state of quality and increase the test coverage, thus gaining confidence in the product's quality before releasing it to the market. To achieve that, a new UI automation test framework was created. It was based on Playwright with Cucumber for test case creation while making them easily understandable by stakeholders.

Later, down the road, we took part in setting up GitHub action workflows to run previously created test cases either 24/7 or on demand. As a result, all the data was gathered and pushed to an Allure server, which made it easy for team members to access the test results.
